Child and Family Sensitive Practice Training

The Australian Centre for Child Protection, with a grant from the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, conducted the national Protecting and Nurturing Children: Building Capacity, Building Bridges Initiative until 2013.

One of the highlights of the Initiative was the development and conduct of the highly successful Child and Family Sensitive Practice Workshop. Over 1000 practitioners from child/family focused and adult focused services across Australia participated in these workshops.

The overwhelmingly positive feedback received from attendees led the Centre to develop a Child and Family Sensitive Practice train-the-trainer package.

This two-day training initially covers the background and what was learned from the Initiative. How to use the Child and Family Sensitive Practice Training Manual and the associated resources is outlined before going through the content in the five modules.

To date nearly 30 people from around Australia have completed Child and Family Sensitive Practice train-the-trainer training.

Training costs vary according to the location and the number of trainees.
